
Optometrist
Dr. Amalia Davis is a fifth generation Texas, born and raised in Houston. She attended the Michael E. Debakey High School for the Health Professions and then attended Scripps College in Claremont, California. After graduation, Dr. Davis returned to Houston and completed her optometry degree at the University of Houston College of Optometry in 2013. Her areas of specialty are vision therapy, vision rehabilitation, binocular vision, pediatrics, and special needs optometry.

Her areas of specialty are vision therapy, vision rehabilitation, binocular vision, pediatrics, and special needs optometry.
Dr. Davis specializes in the treatment of visual functional disorders that affect not only sight (acuity) but the functionality of the entire visual system and the patient. Making sure the eyes work together and coordinate, having accurate tracking skills and adequate and flexible focusing ability are essential for academic success. Dr. Davis successfully treats common visual functional disorders with a combination of lenses, prisms and neuro-visual therapy.
Dr. Davis is passionate about working with children. She is an advocate for early screening and intervention by participating in the Infantsee program to provide no-cost vision screenings for infants to rule out and treat conditions that can affect normal healthy visual development. She is also an annual participant in the See to Succeed Program, which provides vision care for the underserved pediatric population in Houston and surrounding areas. Dr. Davis is a member of the Women’s Business Forum and currently serves on the board. She has been a member for the past 10 years and has served in various capacities on the board. She is also member of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development, the Optometric Extension Foundation, the American Optometric Association, the Texas Optometric Association and the Harris County Optometric Society.
Dr. Davis lives in Houston with her husband and two children.
